"In Wells, Better Waters!"

Target localities: Baia, Ipotesti, Mitocul Dragomirnei

Project objectives:
1) Identification of the risk areas regarding the wells pollution with nitrites and nitrates in 3 pilot communes in Suceava county plateau for 7 months
2) Informing the local authorities about the water pollution from the wells by organising 3 round tables and adopting long and short term measures
3) Informing the population from the target communes about the water pollution from the wells, about the possible risks- during the period septembrie-octomber

Results:
- sampling and analysis of water samples from public wells within schools, kindergartens and private wells in the target localities- way to aware the local authorities about the current situation on the ground in terms of quality of water;
- board markers applied to the contaminated wells which were identified in the target localities with the text "This water is not potable!" with the accord of Suceava Public Health Direction;
- Maps containing the identified points with contaminated wells distributed to the local dispensaries;
- Special events organised in the target localities to present The Code of Good Practices in Agriculture;
- Informing the citizens about the risks of consuming contaminated water with the involvement of the local doctors.
