"Bats from Bat Cave"

Aim: Educating the young people in the spirit of protecting bats

Results:
- Bat Cave was declared a scientific reservation (Governmental Decision. 2151/30.11.2004);
- The territory of The Bat Cave was marked with terminals;
- Panels containing information for tourists were located;
- An optional course entitled "Bats protection" was introduced in the scholar curriculum of the Elementary School from Iacobeni;
- 2000 people from Suceava County and other counties were informed about the importance of bats and their role in the natural balance of ecosystems by organising seminars in faculties and schools and preparing special series of broadcast;
- Bats species were monitored in some caves and mines situated in the NE part of Oriental Carpathians;
- New Nature2000 areas were proposed.

Publications:
- "Bats between Mith and Truth" – the first Romanian book for this type of speciality.
