"Civic dimensions in teen sign"

The project aims to stimulate the active involvement of teenagers from age of 14 in projects that will improve the life in the comunities they live in.

Objective:
1. Establishemnt of a network of school clubs called „CIVITAN 14" in 10 localities of Suceava County;
2. Developing the abilities of active citizens of teenagers in the „CIVITAN 14". The abilities we focused on are initiative, creativity, team spirit, the capacity of identifying and using resources, the capacity of planing and organising activities;
3. Engaging the network members in 10 concrete projects for their comunities.


Beneficiaries:
· 150 pupils between the ages of 12 to 14 from the Bosanci, Ipotesti, Plopeni, Pojorata, Scheia, Udesti, „George Voevidca" Campulung Moldovenesc primary schools, „Mihai Eminescu" Technical Highschool Dumbraveni and „Alexandru cel Bun" College Gura Humorului;
· 10 teachers teaching in the schools mentioned above;
· the 10 schools we developed the „CIVITAN 14" network in.


Main activities:
· Offering the clubs logistic facilities: photo cameras, recorders, supply kits, etc;
· Theoretical workshops:„Developing the capacity to dialog and cooperate", „Complementarity, interrelationships and their role in a team", „The ABC of making a project" and doing test projects based on the ideas they suggested;
· The project contest. Each club in the network had project ideas and the best 3 projects won;
· The camp. 2O pupils and 10 teachers have participated to make the "CIVITAN 14" network and present the clubs' activities on Facebook


The results:
1. Bosanci School - has founded a reading club "Traveler through words". The activities of the club is to build up the interest for reading
2. "George Voevidca" school from Campulung launched the "Sport is fun!" competition. It involves all schools in the city. The competition includes football, table tennis, athletics, and bascketball.
3. The Technic Highschool in Dumbraveni founded teams of pupils under the project „The way to a peaceful holliday". the teams are made of "expert" pupils to help weaker pupils pass the subjects they have flunked. As prize for getting good grades, the pupils have thought of a vacation for 3 days, in the mountains, at a cabin.
4. "Alexandru cel Bun" Highschool in Gura Humorului organised a charitable fair for Easter. They made handmade objects, exotic hairstyles, toy lottery, and cooked goods by some pupils in 5th and 6th grade. The money they raised, they have bought foods for 3 poor families from Gura Humorului.
5. Ipotesti school - "Friendship school" project 6. Plopeni school - a campagne against substances that create dependency ("Say STOP to tobacco, alcohol and ethnobotanical plants)
7. Pojorata school - made a book with local traditional foods to be distributed to the hostels in the area.
8. Siminicea school - founded the local newspaper "Siminicea of today".
9. Scheia school - the pupils have "adopted" the 10 children that live in poor conditions close to the school. Together they have developed activities that brought income and with the money they raised they have bought things the children's families need.
1O. Udesti school prepared the 150 years celebration of the first school in town.
