We left Suceava on the warm morning of September 26th by car. It took us 3 days to reach Muotathal, stopping at Rosia – Bihor (26th) Vienna – Austria (27th) and arriving at our destination at 3am (28th).
The aim of this trip was to get to know new people and find potential partners in future speleological and research projects. For us, the congres started with registering participants, after which we set up the stand atracting visitors to stay and talk with us by serving zacusca, gem and palinca.
In the evening we have enjoyed the speech of the leaders, in 3 languages (German, French and English) followed by a gala dinner that took place in the gym, for over 300 people from 27 countries have participated.
The people were great, the food was wonderful and we made a lot of friends.
The next day was the day full of presentations that have no space here but can be downloaded from here.
The second day ended with awarding the best photos in the contest/exhibition that lasted during the event and a movie (Sanctum).
On the last day, we have visited a very small part (and I mean a SMALL part) of the 200km Holloch cave. Because of the water level rising we could not go any further, but we hope there will be a next time to do so.

Overall, our participation to The 13th National Speleological Congres was a beautiful experience complete with wonderful people in a wonderful place: Muotathal, Switzerland.
